Learn How to Paint Meditative Florals With Gouache for Stress Relief
Stressed & Exhausted... Yet Wired?
Pick Up a Brush Instead of Your Phone to Finally Calm Your Nervous System

Join Slow Bloom, a beginner-friendly creative wellness workshop designed for chronic illness, burnout, grief, and overwhelmed nervous systems.

Painting is relaxing. Using your phone is not.
You're too tired to do anything real but too wired to actually rest

So you pick up your phone. You scroll. You put it down feeling worse. You pick it back up. Repeat until midnight.

The worst part? You used to be creative. You used to make things. But somewhere between the diagnosis, the fatigue, the mental load, and the state of the world... that part of you got buried. It's still there. I promise.
I'm Katie, founder of Inner Peace Art Studio, and I call this workshop Slow Bloom — because that's what happens when you finally stop pushing, stop scrolling, and let yourself create at a pace your body can actually keep up with.

One petal at a time, something imperfect and joyful starts to emerge. Not just on the page. In you. You'll learn how to paint simple, meditative florals using gouache (or whatever paint you have on hand!), a creamy, forgiving, oddly satisfying paint that's perfect for beginners and low-energy days.

We'll also explore what gouache actually is, how it's different from watercolors, and experiment with different types side by side so you're not guessing anymore.

If you're thinking you don't have a creative bone in your body... you do. Here, you don't need experience, steady hands, or fancy supplies. You just need some paint, paper, a brush and two hours

Learn more and join us below. See you in class!

How We'll Spend Our Time Together in This Guided Gouache Meditative Painting Experience
In Slow Bloom: A Meditative Floral Gouache Workshop, we'll explore gouache as a calming, meditative tool through hands-on experiments, gentle education, and a soothing floral painting project designed to get you out of your head and into a flow state even on your lowest-energy days.

Gouache Decoded

Before we paint, we play. You'll get a guided, hands-on tour of gouache — what makes it different from watercolors, why it's so forgiving and beginner-friendly, and how water-based gouache, acrylic gouache, and supplies like Kuretake Gansai Tambi all behave differently. We'll experiment side by side so you can see, feel, and understand each one with your own hands. No Googling required, I've got you!
The Experiment Table
This is where it gets fun. We'll test what happens when you mix gouache with watercolors, layer different mediums together, and break the "rules" — because the most interesting things happen when you stop trying to get it perfect. You'll see live demos of techniques, textures, and happy accidents, and start discovering which paints and approaches feel best to you. Think of it as creative show-and-tell with zero pressure to get it right.
Petal by Petal
This is the heart of the workshop. Using whichever paint spoke to you most, we'll settle into a meditative floral painting project designed to quiet the noise and get you deep into a flow state. Simple petal shapes. Soothing repetition. Calming guidance. Healing art best practices. Layer by layer, brushstroke by brushstroke, you'll FEEL something peaceful and deeply restorative emerge.
Slow Bloom looks beautiful, but the real magic is in what it does for your nervous system.
You'll get deep into a flow state with my calming voice as I walk you through:
  • How to paint simple, meditative florals even if you've never held a brush before
  • The real differences between water-based gouache, acrylic gouache, and watercolors (explained simply, finally)
  • What happens when you mix and layer different mediums together — live experiments you can follow along with
  • Mindful painting techniques designed to calm the "exhausted but wired" nervous system
  • How to set up a tiny, no-mess creative space anywhere — bed, couch, desk, wherever you are
  • Simple, repeatable approaches you can return to anytime you need something that isn't a screen
"Katie’s peaceful demeanor, soothing voice, and easy going style is just what I needed to allow creativity to guide me towards my own inner peace. I have always been a creative person but now I create for me, for the joy of it. Her workshops have helped me maintain a successful daily sketchbook practice that brings me peace of mind and joy."
- Michelle
We'll pause, paint, and heal...
You can't keep scrolling through the same dread loop every night and expect your nervous system to recover.

We aren't painting together for productivity or self-improvement. It's about giving your wired-but-tired brain something it actually wants — color, calm, repetition, the beauty of flowers, and the quiet satisfaction of making something with your hands.
This is art for art’s sake. Art for you.

Meet Your Healing Art Facilitator
Hi, I’m Katie — founder of Inner Peace Art Studio.
I know how lonely and exhausting it can feel to live in a body that doesn’t always cooperate, especially when the world keeps asking you to do more.

You deserve a kind of healing that feels soft, real, and rooted in compassion — the kind that nurtures both your body and your spirit.

That’s why I created Inner Peace Art Studio: a cozy, accessible space where healing and creativity meet. From anywhere you are, you can slow down, exhale, and begin to feel like yourself again. Healing through art, one breath, one brushstroke, one word at a time.
Slow Bloom Gouache Workshop FAQs
  • Do I need specific art supplies or gouache or watercolor experience?
If you want to grab gouache, you can. But honestly, no - you can use any supplies you already have — watercolors, gouache, ink, markers, colored pencils, crayons, or pens all work. Follow along and buy Gouache later. Or buy it now and paint with me. It's up to you! No prior art or watercolor experience is required. I always give painting modifications for other supplies.
  • Is this art therapy or medical treatment?
No. This is a mindful, intuitive painting workshop rooted in Arts in Health and Healing Art facilitation best practices. It is not art therapy or medical advice, and you’ll have full autonomy over your experience.
  • What if I’m low-energy, burned out, or dealing with chronic illness?
This class is designed specifically for overstimulated, low-energy days. The practices are gentle, flexible, and forgiving, and you’re encouraged to participate at your own pace.
  • Will I be able to use this again after the workshop?
Yes. You’ll learn repeatable calming circle techniques you can return to anytime you need grounding, stress relief, or a creative reset.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
Due to the digital nature of this live virtual workshop and immediate access to the app, materials, and replays, all sales are final and we do not offer cancellations or refunds. If you’re unable to attend live, you’ll receive access to the on-demand replay so you can participate at a time that works for you.

Important Note: Inner Peace Art Studio follows best practices from the fields of Arts in Health, Arts in Medicine, and Healing Art facilitation. While creative practices are widely recognized for their therapeutic and stress-relieving benefits, this workshop is not medical advice or art therapy. This is a mindful, intuitive painting experience where you maintain full autonomy over your creative process and outcomes with an experienced facilitator who has taught over 600 live virtual classes.
